As I wrote, I was working hard on my homework and studying for the exam today.
I didn't go to church but I worked hard...no, I'm still working hard.
It takes forever to finish everything.
What time can I go to bed tonight...??
But, I'm pretty nervous about the exam in Legal class so I need to study!
However, I have a practice of cheer leading tomorrow so I have to sleep well.

Happy Birthday, dad*

Hi.

Today is my Japanese dad's 46th birthday!

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and talked to him on phone this morning.

I was glad to hear that everyone is fine in Japan.

I sent a birthday card to him so I hope he will like it when he gets it safely.

As always, I can't believe that almost 6months have passed since I came here.
6 months?!

That is, I have just 5 more months to stay here! How quick!
Passing days is getting sooner than before since I started to go back to school again.
I'm pretty busy everyday so I do think so.

My TOEFL is coming soon so I have to get ready.

But, I do have to work hard at school too so... I will do my best, anyways.

Today I'm working hard on my project of Reading class.

Actually, I'm working on 3 different projects so I'm a little confused!

But, I like all classes and studying for them so I'm fine!

I will keep working hard on them tomorrow, too.

I won't go to church probably.

I had a pretty good day today.
All classes were fine but I got so much homework...I need to work hard.
I had cheer leading and hip-hop after school*
That was so awesome! I love it!
Unfortunately, the cheer practice was a little short today but I had fun.

Exciting Thursday!

Hi.

Today I had an exciting day!

As I wrote yesterday, I had an event called 'Pep Rally' at school.

It was Warrior(the mascot of our school)'s birthday today so we celebrated and we also cheered some sports teams of our school.
For this event, I wore the cheer uniform for the first time!

When I got mine and tried it on, I was so excited!

But, I was pretty busy for this event today so I couldn't enjoy wearing it so much...but that's Okay.

At the Pep Rally, we sang a song for Warrior and cheered loudly!

I was like...'Come on, guys! Let's hear you! Yeah!! Warrior!!'

THIS IS CHEER LEADING!!

Almost all of students and teachers were so excited that they were screaming, shouting and dancing as well.

That was so noisy and crazy!!

But, I liked that atmosphere because we were all in this together to celebrate Warrior and cheer sports teams even though we don't know each other.
I think it's so nice!

I got tired after all but I was happy I could join this event as a cheer leader.

After school, I had the most exciting event!

Guess what!!
I got my hair cut finally!
One of Young Women leaders is so good at haircut so I asked her.

Look at these differences between before and after of my hair!

My hair was so heavy and thick, but now, it's so light and thin!

She really did a great job for me!

I had an exciting Thursday, anyways.

Tomorrow is going to be exciting as well because I have cheer leading and hip-hop!

Of course, I do have to work hard on my projects from each classes and studying for the exam and TOEFL.

Oh, my gosh...I'm soooo busy!
What did I do today and what should I do...?
Okay, I will tell you (or, myself) what I have to do.

-To collect articles for 'skinny book' (Reading 15)
-To review and study whole of 'Section 2' for the exam on next Monday (Legal Studies 20)
-To keep reviewing classes (especially, Legal and Business) everyday
-To memorize the 'cheer words' (Cheer leading)
-To decide the date I will write TOEFL and tell my coordinator
-To study for TOEFL, SERIOUSLY
-To keep training my muscles and flexibility for cheer
-To clean up my room
-To get hair cut (I'm excited!)
-To keep writing my diary everyday at least during this month
-To do whatever I must!hahaha

WHAT?! How busy I am!
But, I'm totally fine.
I'm not too busy as last year....that was crazy...
I also have free time now even though I'm busy.
And, I'm happy I have lots of stuff to do!...Am I crazy?

Shampoo at...

Hi.

Today I felt so tired at school...
I think that was becasue of this long weekend.
But I was happy I could meet friends at school again!
In Reading, we started to work on the first assignment which is named 'skinny book'.
I have to decide a theme I want to research and report in detail, and make a skinny book by myself.
I will do about movie...probably.
In Legal studies and Business basics, I handed in each assignments to teachers.
I worked hard on them this weekend.
I hope I can get good marks!
In Cosmetology, I learned...how to shampoo! Surprise!
My friend shampooed my hair and I did hers.
That was kind of fun...but....surprise.
I tried hard to dry off my hair after all....(^^:)

I will have an exam in Legal on nest Monday.

Hi.

Today I didn't have school because of PD day.
It's a day for teachers so students don't have school! Yeah!
So I went shopping to W.E.M with my Japanese friends.
I wanted to go there for a long time but I was kind of busy, as you know.
I was excited because I could go finally.
These days, it's getting much colder seriously so I need warm clothes.
I found some cute and warm (and kind of cheap?) clothes so I'm super happy now!

I don' t know when will be the next time I can go shopping so I really enjoyed today.
I hope some clothes I gave up because of prices will be cheaper when I go there again!hahaha

I could finish all of my homework safely.

Hi.

Today I went to church with my host family.
I could enjoy each classes and meeting with my friends there.

After that, I was working hard on my homework...actually, still now.
I have to hand it 2 assignments so I'm working hard.

Hockey game!

Hi.

Today I went to see a hockey game with my host family and Eri, my Japanese friend.
That was my first time to see a real hockey game so I was pretty excited.
One of my church friend belongs to a hockey team so we cheered him.
The ice arena was sooooooooooooooooo cold...
The team which my friend belongs couldn't win but I was impressed with the game.
I want to see it again!

Now, Eri, my friend is coming and sleeping over.
We're going to watch a movie...probably.

Hi.

I just came back from hip-hop class.
As you know, that was my second class but I already love hip-hop a lot!
Because my teacher said to me, 'you are perfect!'.
I was like 'oh...I love hip-hop soooo much, already!'hahaha

I also had a good practice of cheer leading today.
We kept doing standing(?) and I need a power for that so my arms are sored now.
But, I could talk with friends a lot today so I'm glad.
I hope I can make good relationships will all of members.

Hi.

Today I had a short-class day so I went shopping with Eri, my friend.

I bought a pair of sneakers for my hip-hop class.

I love the design in red and gold which are my favorite colours!

I also bought some cards for my friends and Halloween.

There were lots of goods at the card shop and they were so cute!

I'm already excited about Halloween!

Today was...as you know, NORMAL!
But I could join the practice of cheer today so I was happy.
Actually, it's sometimes hard to understand the Legal class and Business class.
I need to ask teachers my questions, sometimes.
However, after I understand, I feel so good!

Normal Tuesday

Hi.

Today I had a normal day...again.
But, in period3, we heard a presentation about traffic accidents by drunk driver.
All episodes were so sad so I do hope anyone won't causes it any more.

After school, I went to a library with my friend.
I returned the DVDs I borrowed and found another DVD today!
It's a music DVD of Backstreet Boys who are my best artists in Canada (U.S.A?).
I'm sooooo happy and excited!
I can't wait the weekend!

Now, my friend is coming over to my house.
We are just talking...that's it!

Normal Monday

Hi,

Today was kind of normal day.
I just took classes and joined cheer leading.
But, actually, I got hurt on my toe so I didn't join the practice.
I was just sitting and watching.
I do hope my toe will recover soon.

I have a pretty big and amazing news!
Eri, my one of Japanese friend is staying with my neighbor now.
Her actual host family has gone out for their vacation for a week so she needs to stay with another host family.
And then she found a family and moved yesterday.
The family is...my neighbor!!
I was so surprised when she came to my house last night.
I couldn't get what's going on!hahaha
But, we join cheer team together and of course we go to school together so it's good for us.
She hardly came to visit me so far so I hope she can come to my house at least once.

I don't have any homework tonight but I'm pretty tired.
So...I'll go to bed after I review classes and study a little.

Church, DVDs, and a nap!

Hi.

Today I went to the church with my host family.
As I wrote, I haven't been there for a long time so I felt kind of special.
Actually, today was a special day, exactly.
We didn't have any classes.
There were lots of people there.
I didn't get the meaning of this but my host family said 'it's special for us'.
The president of this church or someone like that (I guess) came from Uta to talk to people.
We listened some people's speech for 2 hours.
I finally didn't get the meaning, but I was glad to have such a special experience.

After that, I watched 2 DVDs which I borrowed from the public library.
One of that, 'Bridget Jones's Diary', was......bad, actually.
I knew it's known by people well and I thought it's a good movie.
But, in fact, people in this movie use bad words a lot...I'm sad.
Another DVD is named 'HIROSHIMA' and about the huge bomb in 1945.
Some scenes made me sad but I think it's important to know about it.

After I watched them, I had a nap.
I got tired from church.... because I kept sitting and listening to speeches for 2 hours.

Now, I'm going to watch a movie with my host family.
Sounds fun!

Today I had nothing to do so I woke up late!hahaha
And then I did my homework and reviewing classes.
It took about 30 minutes.
After that, I cleaned up my room.
Basically, I didn't have anything to do so my motion was so slow today.hahaha
Now, I'm using computer.
Tomorrow I will go to the church.
I haven't been there for a long time so I miss my friends.
Tomorrow will be kind of special day at church.
We won't have Sunday classes, probably.
I will be busy again from Monday so I hope I can relax tomorrow.

Exciting Friday*

Hi.
Today I had an exciting Friday!

First, I passed my tryout for cheer leading successfully!!
When I found my number on the list which says who past it,
I was so happy and excited!
Now, I'm a member of W.P.Wagner cheer team!
I do want to join some events as much as possible.

Next, I had my first class of hip-hop tonight.
My class is only for an hour and short but I really had fun.
I'm pretty sure I can't join the competition but I will do my best and enjoy!

Now, my body is sored but my mental is totally fine.
Because!! I started my best thing to do finally!
My dreams came true!!
As some of you know, I do love dancing since I was a child.
But, because of some reasons, I couldn't dance in Japan.
However, I can do anything I wish here!hahaha
Of course, it's sometimes hard to start something new in Canada or in English,
but I'm sure I can be successfull because I've hoped for a long time.
I'll do my best, anyways**

Don't worry, I'm working hard on study, of course.
From Legal Studies and Business class, I can get lots of vocabularies and new knowledges.
That's so fun for me.

Hi,

Today I had short-class day today so I went to Millwoods Town Centre.

I've wanted to go to the library but I was kind of busy these days so I couldn't.

Today, I could go there finally.

I borrowed 2 DVDs.

Actually, I'm looking for CDs which I want to listen but I couldn't find it today.

I hope I can find them someday.

And also, I went to HMV in Town Centre.

I haven't been there for a while so I was excited when I entered into the store.

I bought a DVD called 'LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA'.

It's a Hollywood movie in Japanese which my favorite actors act.

I was looking for it for a long time so I'm happy now that I could get it.

I'm sure I will watch some nice movies this weekend.

(I hope I don't have homework this weekend!!)

Tomorrow, I have the first practice of cheer leading, probably.
I haven't checked the name list yet, which says who passed the tryout.

I DO hope I could make it!

And also, I have my first practice of hip-hop class after school.

Tryout and review...

Hi,

Today I had the actual tryout for cheer leading.
We were divided in 3 members and had to show cheer, dance, and a jump to coaches.
I felt a little nervous because everyone was staring at me!
But, I did my best and I had fun even though I felt nervous.
I hope I can be a member of the team.

Recently, I always review my all classes before I go to bed.
My English is improving but it's still hard to understand all of classes.
So I need to review classes and find out all new words which I don't understand.
It's kind of hard but I think I need to continue it.
Thanks to this custom, I'm increasing my vocabulary, I think.
As you know, I have to take TOEFL and I do need the great vocabulary.
I will keep doing this for not only to understand classes but also to get good scores at TOEFL.

I'm a little tired because of new classes and cheer leading.
I will go to bed earlier tonight for my health.
...but I want to read about business, actually....!!
24 hours are not enough!!hahaha

Happy BIrthday, Makoto!

Hi,

Today, Sept. 11th is my Japanese brother's birthday!
He turned 19 years old.
Unfortunately, I couldn't call him to say 'happy birthday' today.
(But I will call him this weekend.)
I miss him so much but he always cheers me so I can keep doing my best in Canada.
After I go back to Japan, I want to spend time with him a lot*
I do hope his happiness and being healthy this year.

Today I switched my classes from English 10 to Business Basics.
I found some similarities between them and I have Reading already so I wanted to try something new and different.
So, I talked to my school counselor and she accepted my changing.
Since I'm taking Legal Studies, I'm interested in business these days.
So I decided to join Business from today.
I really enjoyed busines class today and I like it a lot.
I will keep taking it!
I'm so glad I can take my current favorites and interests.

Tomorrow, I have the actual tryout for cheer leading.
I feel a little nervous but I will do my best with smile(^^#)

Cheer leading started!

Hi,

I had a good day today.
All classes were good and especially I enjoyed Cosmetology today!
We started to learn how to curl our hair with curler.
That's the thing I wanted to learn in Cosmetology so I was excited*
I think I did good job*hahaha

After classes, I had a try out for cheer leading!
We learned cheer and dance.
I was so excited about today's practice so I had so much fun!
My body is tired but I'm feeling so good now*

Hi,

Just now, I came back from Calgary.
This weekend, I realxed and had a good time with my host-grand-parents and host ant.
They are so kind to me.
I also met my host dad's grand parents.
They've ever been to Japan ten years ago and they know about Japan a little.
They praised my English so I was glad.

From tomorrow, I will go to school, of course.
My cheer leading will start from tomorrow and my hip-hop will start from Friday so I'm so excited!
I'm sure I will be muce busier than ever but I will do my best!

I'm staying at my host dad's parents' house.

I finished the first week of my semester1 today! Good job!hahaha
I like all classes, teachers and friends a lot so far.
My best class is Legal Studies*
I watched a movie 'Legally Bronde' in class and really enjoyed it.
Of course, it's not easy for me to understand all of movies, classes and books still now.
But, after I understand them, I feel so good*
Hope I can increase my English skill and knowledge about law.

As I wrote, I will go to Calgary from tonight...actually, I'm almost leaving.

Today, when I came back from school, there was a cute baby in my house.
My host mom was asked babysitting by her friend.
This girl was so cute and sweet*

Short classes

Hi,

Today is Thursday so all classes were shorter than usual.
On Thursdays, I can go back to home much earlier so I'm happy.
I went to a market held by farmers with my host family.
I also went to some stores to get stuff I need.

Finally!

Hi,

Some of my classes started seriously today.
I mean, we had to not only to information but also take notes.
Especially, in Legal studies, I had to answer some questions over reading the text book and take notes.
It's not easy for me to take notes quickly like other students.

Tomorrow, I will watch a movie about law so I'm pretty excited!

The first day of my grade 11 life

Hi,

Today was the first day of school!
As you know, I was so excited about that for a long time.
So I could wake up early and get ready easily this morning!
...I guess it's only today!hahaha

I saw so many new students from each junior highs or other high schools.
There were some my church friends so I was happy to see them.

Now, I'm going to write about my classes...the first impression!

-Period1:Reading 15
I didn't choose it but I must take it because I'm here to learn English and this class will help me a lot.
The teacher is nice and will help me a lot so I'm relieved.
I hope I can improve my English more.

-Period2:Legal Studies 20
Actually, I've interested in law for a long time and wanted to study it.
In Japan, it's hard to study it by myself unless I study it in University, so I chose it in Canada.
I'm sure it's going to be hard for me to understand everything.
But I will do my best*
The teacher knows my seniors who went to the same school as us last year.
She looks kind so I want to learn a lot from her.

-Period3:English 10
I attended English 10 in last semester but I think I need to take it again so I chose it.
Almost all of students are in grade 10 so I was a little nervous about making friends.
But, they were very nice to me today and there is a girl who is in grade 11!
She was also worried about the same problem as me.
I want to be good friends with her soon.
The teacher is nice and skinny!!

-Period4:Cosmetology 10
I've been so excited about this class since I chose this class before summer.
This class is going to be my best class!
But, I was so surprised about that the teacher is a guy!
I didn't know that at all so I was like 'where is the actual teacher...?! He is an assistant, right?'hahaha
I do wish I can enjoy and learn a lot with him.
As English is, almost all of students are in grade 10 in Cosmetology.
There are only 3 students who are in grade 11 and only one in grade 12.
I want to make good terms with all of girls in this class.

Today, I introduced myself so many times.
I had to explain that I'm an international student from Japan, I'm staying for a year to learn English, I've already stayed here for 5 months and I will go back to Japan in next March.
...How many times did I say this?!hahaha

Anyways, I'm still excited about school.
I hope I can do my best, get good scores, and have many friends.

Goodbye, my summer vacation!

Hi,

Today I went shopping at Southgate with my Japanese friends.
I was still tired but I didn't want to waste my last holiday!hahaha
I bought some clothes for school and dance.
They are all cute so I'm satisfied**

My long long summer vacation finished today, finally.
I had lots of wonderful memories and experiences which I can't do in Japan.
I really appericiate everyone who helped me and gave me lots of fun!
I think I can do my best for everthing even though it's hard or difficult because I had so much fun this summer.

Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller

Hi,

Today I went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller with Megumi, my Japanese friends and her host family.
I was glad that they invited me for their own holiday!

We left Edmonton at 9:00 in the morning and we got to the museum at 2:30 p.m..

...yes, that was a long driving!

On the way to the museum, we saw lots of strata.

They were pretty huge.

When I entered the museum finally, I was so excited!

There were many displays of fossils, dinosaurs, and so on.

I looked everything seriously but I also enjoyed everything in the museum.

I took lots of pictures of dinosaurs!

At the gift shop, I bought 2 post cards for me!hahaha

Actually, I'm interested in dinosaurs a lot!...did you know that already?hahaha
So I really enjoyed the museum and I want to go there again.

Thank you so much for taking me to such a nice place, Megumi and Mr. and Mrs. Solomon.

I came home at 8:30 p.m. and I'm tired now.

My 5 months Anniversary

Hi,

Today was pretty special for me.

5 months have past since I came to Edmonton.

Actually, I can't believe it at all....!!
But it's true that I'm having so much fun and my English is improving.

I really appereciate everything and everyone who helps me.

I will keep doing my best and making good memories.

Today I helped making apple juice and apple syrup.
Our neighbor gave us lots of apples called 'crabapple'.

Crabapples are smaller than normal apples and look like cheeries.

I had never seen and tried making them so that was so interesting for me!

I've not tasted them yet but I'm really looking forward to it!
